Capability Audit and Evaluation

Below is a complete Capability Audit from the book HR from Outside In, based on my company: Citizens Bank.

The purpose of the Capability Audit is to focus on the attributes of the companies capabilities. In other words, finding what the company is strong at and evaluating the findings from it. When thinking of categories of what a company may have a stronger side, there are areas in talent, operations or innovation to name a few. The HR role is to keep up with the ever-changing nature of their companies and help to have a clear understanding of strengths, and with the audit tool, improvement can be achieved by maintaining and to continue best practices (Shiri, S. (2012)

In the audit, many categories raised eyebrows on where my company could spend more time on improving but definitely shows where were we are good at. The main purpose of the tool is to find those strengths and capitalize on them. I found that it is in Collaboration, Innovation and Customer Connectivity that are what is going great with Citizens. Collaborations because after undergoing the process of going public recently and also stemming of an international parent company, the company teamwork held together on making a perfect transition without a problem.s Innovation because the change in the retail banks are imminent and our company is also coming up with the new ways of doing banking electronically whether mobile or in the branch. Last but not least is our Connectivity with Customers. Even with the culture of banking is going more automated, campaigns are in the forefront to bring the customer physically back to branch meeting one on one. Exploring the Capability Audit brings great meaning to natural talents of the company and with it, shows a pathway to business improvement.
